1|What is SMSParking?

SMSParking is paying your parking ticket by sending SMS messages.

2|Is SMSParking the same as Call parking?

No, SMSParking is not the same , there are several differences:

  1. Using SMSParking You send a SMS message to start/end your parking action
  2. Using SMSParking You receive a confirmation by SMS that your parking started/ended
  3. The SMS message that you receive contains all the information about our parking action
  4. SMSParking BV doesn’t charge you extra on your phone bill
  5. SMSParking has no transaction costs
  6. SMSParking does not connect a phone number to a license plate

3|Where can i use SMSParking?

For the moment only in Amsterdam?

4|Can I Use SMSParking with any particular car?

Yes, there are no restrictions. This is possible because every time U use SMSParking, You can transmit the license plate of the vehicle you’re parking.

5|I have a prepaid card in my Telephone, can I also use SMSParking?

Sending a SMS message to the number 4030 of SMSParking BV is not charged by reverse billing. Therefore no extra costs.

6|In what way will they be able to check if I’m paying my parking with SMSParking?

The controller checks your license plate number and immediately sees that your using SMSParking.

7|Where can I get more information about SMSParking?

8|What will happen if i forget to end my parking action?

Your parking action automatically ends after 24 hours. You can choose to use our SMS reminder service where you receive a SMS message that your parking action still is active. In your own user account you can choose to activate this service.

Register to use SMSParking

1|Who can register to use SMSParking?

Everybody can sign up to use SMSParking. Go to register form and follow the instructions.

2|What happens when I registered and when can I use SMSParking?

After registration:

  • As a private user: Your registration will be processed  and as soon as SMSParking managed to collect the registration fee (€5,00), your account will be activated
  • Business users: you will receive an e-mail with a contract attached to it; please sign that contract and send it back using the regular mail or fax. In the mean time, the registration fee (€ 5,00) will be collected from your account. As soon as SMSParking BV receives the signed agreement, your account will be activated.
  • You will receive a confirmation e-mail with the message that your account is activated.
  • Login and insert your phone numbers you like to use. Also indicate if you want to receive SMS reminders

3|How many Phone numbers can I use on one account?

For private users there’s a restriction of 3 phone numbers.
As a business user you can enter as many phone numbers as you want. You will be checked if the amount of phone numbers is relevant to the size of your company

4|What can I do if I forgot my password and/or username?

Forgot username: Send a sms message to 4030 containing "user" and you will receive your username by e-mail.
Forgot password: Send a sms message to 4030 containing "pass" and you will receive your password by e-mail.

Shortcode, Zonecode and SMS

1|What’s a Short code?

Short code is a special telephone numbers, significantly shorter than a full telephone number. They are designed to be shorter to read out and easier to remember.

2|What’s the Short code of SMSParking?

The Short code SMSParking uses is 4030. All SMS messages you send to start/end a parking action must be send to this number.

3|What’s a Zone number or tariff number?

Zone number/Tariff number, also called Zone code, is a number that is been given to an area of a parking zone. (it’s been displayed on the parking machine or above it)

4|What’s the format of a SMS message to start a parking action?

The SMS message must contain: Zone number{space}license plate number and must be send to 4030 (number identification must be activated on your cell phone)


For Example: Zone number = 12345, license plate number = AA-GG-99. The message looks like this: 12345 aagg99 send to 4030.


If You park with the same car every time, you only need to send the Zone code every time you park your car. When you park with a different car, You send the message with that license plate number. This way your flexible is using SMSParking with different cars.

5|What’s the format of a SMS message to end a parking action?

To end a parking action, just send the letter q to 4030

Parking

1|On which car parks must I pay parking fees?

Everywhere the municipality decided to charge users for parking their car.

2|What are the tariffs for parking my car in a car park?

The municipality decides what the tariffs are, SMSParking BV has no influence on thet procedure.

3|What can I do when I want to end a parking action but my battery has gone down?

You can also start and end a parking via the internet. Go to your user account and follow the instructions.

4|What’s the time limit for parking my car?

It depends on the local rules. In the SMS messages you receive from SMSParking you will be informed when there’s a time limit.

Tariffs SMSParking service

1|What’s the price to sign up for using SMSParking?

There’s a onetime sign up fee of € 5,00 which will be collected from your bank or credit card account by SMSParking BV

2|What’s the price for sending a SMS to 4030?

It depends on the tariffs of your provider for sending a SMS. SMSParking does not charge you extra for this.

3|What’s the price for receiving a SMS message from SMSParking BV?

For every SMS message SMSParking sends to you, you will be charged with € 0,15 service fee. This involves every SMS message like start parking, end parking and SMS reminders. The amount of the service fee will be charged trough your invoice at the end of the month.

4|Are there other costs for using SMSParking?

You will not be charged for any other services. Only for the ones mentioned in this document

Payments, Bills and overviews

1|On what way do I pay my bills?

Every two weeks SMSParking BV will automatically collect the due amounts from your bank or credit card account.

2|Can I get an overview of my parking actions?

On your user account you can get detailed (phone number, license plate, zone, time, date, price) overviews van your parking actions

3|What happens if SMSParking didn’t manage to collect the Parking fee of my bank or credit card account?

In this case SMSParking will give you the opportunity to pay the amount due yourself within 3 days. When this doesn’t occur, SMSParking will cancel the service and you still have 4 days to pay the amount due without SMSParking charging you extra. If the amount due after this period still isn’t paid, SMSParking will charge you extra for administration costs and will hand over the case to the bailiff office Janssen & Janssen who will take over this matter and charge you extra for their service what means your bills rising very quick. Therefore always make sure you can pay what you use on SMSParking!
